I’d like to wish all my friends and readers a very Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
If you have a significant other, I hope you enjoy some special time together. If you have your heart set on someone, I hope your dream comes true. If you are looking for love, I wish you every success. If you are happy to be single, good on you!
Here’s a little song to get you in the mood while you read the rest of the post.
I’ll be spending my Valentine’s evening at a concert. My hubby is taking me to see Sting & Paul Simon who are performing at a vineyard in the Hunter Valley. I think I’m in for a real treat.
But I’ll let you in on a secret – and maybe this is strange for a romance writer – but I think Valentine’s Day is over-rated. Don’t get me wrong, I love the romance of the day, and I always acknowledge it with special time spent with my husband. Usually we have a candle-lit dinner at home with an amazing bottle of wine. We spoil ourselves with good food, toast each other with the wine, and enjoy each other’s company. We don’t fight for restaurant reservations, or spend a fortune on chocolates and roses, or buy each other presents. It’s just a simple evening about us.
I also love to spend Valentine’s Day with my favourite book couples. There’s nothing better than losing myself in a story of two men finding love. Valentine’s Day is definitely a day for reading a book with grand romantic gestures and a big happy ending. Have you got any recommendations for what I should be reading?
Happy Valentine’s and happy reading,
Nic ❤
