What’s in a title?

With the release of my first book  just around the corner–oh my god, I can’t believe it’s less than two weeks away!– I have officially entered the ‘bucket of nerves’ part of the writing process. It’s a strange mix of excitement and anticipation with a good dose of anxiety thrown in.

It seems a little prophetic that I chose the title “It’s Not Easy” for Ben and Spence’s story because it definitely reflects what I’m going through at the moment!

When I first started on this journey, I assumed the writing of the story and finding someone to publish it would be the hardest part. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t a walk in the park, but if I was to choose the most difficult part (at least the way I’m feeling now), it’s the waiting to see how the book is received.

Maybe it gets easier with each story published? I guess only time will tell but I certainly hope so. 🙂

In the meantime I am waiting anxiously for the reader response and hoping the story resonates with some people. If it does, mission accomplished!

Which leads me to the other book that will be available soon. “Waiting, Hoping, Wishing”,  my Love’s Landscapes story, is prophetic in it’s own right because that’s exactly what I am doing right now!

  1. Congratulations! I understand what you mean. Every time I hit a new point in the process, I thought it was the hardest part of all. Finishing a draft…editing…finding a publisher…each time I’d wipe the proverbial sweat off my brow because the hard part was finished and now I could kick back and let someone else do the heavy lifting.

LOL nope! Then comes editing and then promotion- I think promotion is the hardest part, but take heart, you’re in the home stretch. 😀
