The Last Wolf
(Sapphire Ranch Wolves #1)
The only good predator is a dead one, as far as Joe Lowther is concerned.
That is until the day he shoots a wolf, only to watch the animal turn into a naked Callum Pope. Cal is being hunted by a group of humans who eradicate shifter packs for sport.
Joe makes a decision to help Cal and discovers a deeper connection with the young shifter. One which he’d like to explore. If they live that long.
Joe awoke lying on his stomach, the right side of his body overheated and the left chilled. He cracked one eye open to discover Cal snuggled up to him and hogging the comforter. Joe tugged on the comforter only to have Cal grumble and roll over, taking even more of the covering with him.
“You have a furry coat,” Joe mumbled. “You’re not supposed to get cold.”
“I don’t wear my fur in bed.”
“Hogging all the covers is bad manners.”
Cal huffed and rolled back with the comforter, wrapping himself around Joe. “Better?”
Joe relaxed in the warmth of Cal and closed his eyes. Then his alarm went off.
“Poor baby.” Cal leaned over and slapped the oldfashioned alarm clock on Joe’s nightstand, then kissed Joe and snuggled down again.
“You’re not gonna make it easy for me to get up, are you?”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Cal contradicted. “I’m gonna make it real easy for you to get it up.”
