It’s September. OMG, GRL is just around the corner!
As I mentioned last week, my To Do list for preparing to head to the US, has seen most items crossed off. Today I’m adding a couple of new things – get a flu shot and stock up on stuff to keep me healthy. I’ve seen lots of suggestions from fellow attendees that should help me avoid the nasty germs.
Today we meet author Z. Allora. I hope you enjoy!
Meet Z. Allora
Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions. Hopefully you won’t find then too difficult. 🙂
Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?
It’s my fourth GRL.
My advice: Have fun!!! You are with your tribe. Find out about the readers, the other writers, the reviewers, and the publishers.
My warning: Sipping straight from the rainbow can be overwhelming take some alone time to de-charge. I know you want to do everything and see everyone but you will burn yourself out. Take a bit of time to relax so you can enjoy the GRL.
Suggestion: Zicam, Emergence-C & Airbourne it helped me avoid the GRL plague last year. You will be attending a germ buffet… hugging all of us exposes you to new and determined germs… PREVENTION MY PRETTIES!
What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?
I love meeting everyone: sometimes the best times are when you are sitting next to a stranger and you leave as Facebook friends.
What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?
Sitting in China and saw a clip of Adam Lambert kiss his (then) keyboard player. The backlash from the sponsors made me angry. I wrote a ‘what if’ story… studying the song FEVER on YouKu (China’s answer to YouTube) I was fascinated how the kiss happening or not during the show could identify how homophobic the place they performed in was… as the Glam tour came to Asia and certain countries had protests. The fear was Adam Lambert would make their kids gay. I realized I HAD to share aka publish my story which evolved into The Dark Angels.
What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
The Dark Angels: With Wing
The lights go down and stage lights up. The Dark Angels have arrived. With his come-hither voice and body made for sin, lead singer Angel Luv draws lovers like a magnet. And when he caresses and taunts shy guitarist Darius Stone on stage, well…it’s an act, right? But every touch lights a fire, and every flirtatious glance chips away at Dare’s certainty that he’s straight. No one else has so captured his imagination.
Temptation beckons. It’s hard not to notice the want in Dare’s eyes, the way he stares when he thinks Angel’s not watching. One wrong move might scare him away, but a work trip to exotic Bali might be the perfect place to let Dare explore his sexuality, with none to be the wiser. But their “friends with benefits” pact has an expiration date that just might sour their friendship.
What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.
Entwined: Lock & Key
It’s a BDSM.
Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?
I LOVE chatting with folks. Maybe it was all my time overseas but to be able to enjoy Facebook is a gift to me. If we aren’t Facebook Pretties because track my butt down and friendship me.
I’ll definitely be tracking your butt down 🙂
About Z. Allora
Every one deserves a happy ending… (and I make sure they get one). I have written about hot rockers, sexy zombies, and Thailand club performers. My stories are about love, romance and are tied together with erotic sex. I utilize my time overseas and my travels to bring you to places you’ve yet to visit. I introduce you to cultures you’ve yet to explore. But with every word I write I hope to convey love is love. I look forward to hearing from you, my Pretties!

Featured book from Z. Allora
Illusions and Dreams: Based on Z. Allora’s time in Thailand & experiences with the ladyboy performers
Randy Camster failed at being married. His life now centers around work, TV sports, and listening to his friend Jake complain about how Randy’s lack of a sex life will be the downfall of mankind. Not true! Well, not totally. He’s just never understood the fascination with sex until… ladyboy performer Lalana Dulyarat shimmies into his world via an Internet ad for Thailand tourism.
Jake O’Neil’s open pansexuality yields him interesting bedmates, but he’s never chased after the mythical illusion of love. He focuses on others, like his best friend Randy, who needs a Bang-Cock vacation. Finding an adorable little imp named Boon-nam wasn’t on the itinerary. Gay, straight, and undecided, Jake has had ‘em all, but never a virgin aching to take a walk on the kinky side after having her affirmation surgery. Talk about pressure. And what’s with everyone warning him not to break her heart? His is the one in danger.
