OMG! I leave for GRL in less than a week. The nerves and excitement are nearly overwhelming!
My countdown is nearing its end but not before we meet Aisling Mancy.
Meet Aisling Mancy
Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions. Hopefully you won’t find then too difficult. 🙂
Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?
This is my first GRL and I’m terrified. But not for the reasons you might think. My grandfather was a prolific author and I grew up in Hollywood, and dealt with public appearances, premieres, and the press from a young age. Having almost no privacy and literally having to run from the press from the time I was young is indelibly imprinted on my mind. As such, public appearances of any kind frighten me.
What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?
Meeting the authors and readers I so admire.
What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?
I advocate for abused boys and now I write for them to give them hope in recovering from abuse.
What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
It’s a series of eight books in the fantasy genre involving a Welsh god and a shifter and maybe, just maybe, if I remain appropriately caffeinated, it’ll come out next year.
What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.
I just finished reading a contemporary thriller about nanotechnology wherein a group of people protesting against nanotechnology is led by the very man who leads nano research.
Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?
While I do have some speech, I generally do not speak. I have a speech impediment that makes it a nearly insurmountable task. I plan to do a lot of nodding and smiling as well as writing on my little pad of paper. Please be willing to read my little pad of paper!
Thank you for having me, Nic! It was great to be here!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I look forward to meeting you, and your little pad of paper, very soon 🙂
Aisling is an author who lives, most of the time, on the West Coast of the United States. Aisling writes adult fantasy, adult LGBTQIA romance, and fiction for gay young adults (C. Kennedy).
Raised on the mean streets and back lots of Hollywood by a Yoda-look-alike grandfather, Aisling doesn’t conform, doesn’t fit in, is epic awkward, and lives to perfect a deep-seated oppositional defiance disorder. In a constant state of fascination with the trivial, Aisling contemplates such weighty questions as If time and space are curved, then where do all the straight people come from? When not writing, Aisling can be found taming waves on western shores, pondering the nutritional value of sunsets, appreciating the much maligned dandelion, unhooking guide ropes from stanchions, and marveling at all things ordinary.
I look forward to meeting you at Gay Rom Lit!
Aisling does respond to emails because, after all, it is all about you, the reader.

About Ash’s Books
It’s an action-packed year! A Solitary Man (co-write with Shira Anthony) releases on November 6th of this year from Dreamspinner Press, Sleight of Heart releases in December of this year from CoolDudes Publishing, and Grotesque is planned to release in February, 2016. Along with these works, two sequels to the young adult novel Omorphi—Tharros and Elipizo—will release in 1st and 2nd quarters, 2016 from Harmony Ink Press. In addition, Mud Angels (Angeli del Fango) will release in 2016 for the 50th anniversary of the Arno River Flood of 1966 in Florence, Italy to celebrate the youth who helped restore priceless books and art after the flood. Assuming Ash remains appropriately caffeinated, you may see two sexy adult works, Aeromancer (Sci-Fi), and Shooting Star (Spec: Urban-Dystopian-Post-apocalyptic-Romance-with-a-splash-of-Sci-Fi. Yes! It is possible!).
About Sleight of Heart
A vampire mage, a Romani young man, and a love that won’t be denied.
Lord Taliesin Solitaire was born albino, cursed mute by the fey, and betrayed by a vampire lover. For two hundred years the vampire mage has vowed never to love again and has only used sex as a means to a meal. Until a palm-reading gypsy finds himself in peril and Taliesin can’t resist rescuing the beautiful young man.
Pesha is the eldest but smallest son of King Vaida Sinclair, the oppressive ruler of the Kåle Romani Compania. Deemed impure by his father, Pesha is shunned and mistreated by his band and four half-brothers, and one brother in particular wants him dead. His pale, silent savior gives him safety, security and a love he never could have imagined. As Pesha falls in love with his handsome white knight, his half-brother does the unthinkable.
Can Taliesin rescue Pesha from the cruel clutches of his half-brother a second time?
