Today I’m sharing a Guest Post from Eva LeFoy. She talks about sexy men (yay!) and provides an excerpt from her latest story. So over to Eva…
Celebrities I wish were on gay romance covers by Eva Lefoy
Let’s face it there are some sexy guys on gay romance ebook covers. Sometimes I peruse the covers just to see who’s the most delectable. A few of the same models get used or even overused on the M/F romance covers before making their way onto the gay romance ones. But it seems to me there are some definite gay cover model “types” that I don’t see on M/F ones at all. Maybe they’ve got a little bit softer look, or have that younger, almost innocent appeal whereas the guys on the M/F covers all seem like overbuilt testosterone reeking adrenaline junkies. Seriously, what’s wrong with a fresh face now and then? Nothing, I say!
A lot of these gay romance cover models are IMO better looking than the ones on the M/F anyway and more interesting. I can’t see why a woman – who by the way is the main gay romance reading market – wouldn’t want to stare at them. I do! While we’re talking about cute guys, we might as well have a chat about those that I would put on a gay romance covers just so I can write a story about them. To say I find them inspirational is an understatement! In no particular order, here are a few of my biggest celebrity crushes I sometimes fantasize are gay or on my M/M ebook cover:
Jensen Ackles
Jamie Dornan – I know, it’s sacrilegious but wouldn’t he be a great M/M love interest?
Eric Dane
Chris Pine
Henry Cavil – yum! He could do the whole Regency thing quite nicely!
Rupert Penry-Jones
Paul Wesley – as a hunky gay vampire! Yum!
Matthew MacFadyen
Taylor Kinney – for the PNR genre
Wentworth Miller – who actually is gay but I had to have him on the list!
So there’s a few guys worthy of gracing a M/M romance cover for sure, I think. Am I right? Did I miss anybody? Who’s your favorite I-wish-he-was-gay actor you’d like to read a story about?
My latest M/M story features the Roman god Hercules, not someone you’d normally think of as a gay character. It’s kind of hard to find a guy who looks like him and since he’s already a fictional character it’s even harder to imagine him accurately. This guy is the closest I could come.
(See what I mean about the M/F covers? This model is on a ton of them!)
And here is the cover:
The Hercules story also appears in Sexy to Go Gay Romance, a box set of M/M stories out now at all major retail outlets. Sorry, Henry Cavil wasn’t available for the cover – he was too busy being sexy – but we’ll get him next time!
Cheers,
Eva

Excerpt: How Hercules Got His Bruise by Eva Lefoy
Zeus stroked his beard and eyed him carefully. “I have a job for you. It will be quite a challenge.”
At the god’s serious tone, he sat up and gave his full attention. “What is it?”
His superior paced to the edge of the stone deck overlooking the human world below and sighed. “We have a problem I’d like for you to take care of before it makes us Olympians a laughing stock.”
He wracked his brain but couldn’t imagine what that might entail. “You wish me to conquer a dragon? Tame the seas? Harness the wind to your liking?”
Zeus shook his head. “No. It’s much worse than that.”
He gripped the edge of the marble bench and slid forward in anticipation. “Well, what then? What could possibly cause the Olympians any harm at all?”
“Sisyphus.”
He wanted to say “are you kidding me?” but Zeus’ serious expression quelled the urge. Nonetheless, this had to be a joke. “You mean Sisyphus, the skinny guy pushing the rock?”
Zeus nodded gravely. “Yes.”
“Um… what exactly is wrong with him? He’s sentenced to push the rock up the hill for eternity and every time the rock will roll back down. So what’s the problem?”
“After making the rock bigger and bigger, and the slope steeper and steeper, Sisyphus is still persisting.”
“So?”
“He’s almost managed to beat us.” Zeus held up his hand and like every other man, animal or god, Hercules flinched just a tiny bit, lest a thunderbolt with his name on it come shooting out. The highest god pinched his forefinger and thumb together. “He’s this close to making that rock stay up on the hill and when he does, he will prove that a human can overcome even our toughest punishments.”
His eyebrow rose, wondering just how short a memory Zeus possessed. Well, I kind of did too, you know. Remember the twelve labors? Rather than start a battle he couldn’t win, he merely sighed and rubbed his eyes, exhaling through his nose. Living on Olympus was tiring most days. Today it was simply bizarre. “So what do you want me to do?”
“Stop him. Stop him from completing the task.”
“How?”
Zeus shrugged. “Use any force necessary. Kill him if you have to, because if he does triumph over our punishment, I’ll have to kill him myself. He simply can’t be allowed to show us up as a bunch of fools.”
Hercules’ eyebrows raised, sympathy for the man stirring in his heart. He had no doubt Zeus would make good on his threat.
“You leave in the morning.” Zeus spun on his heel and stalked off, pausing by the edge of the deck leading to the marble stairs. “Do not fail me.”
