BLURB: “Win the love of the wolf with the hardest heart.”
Faced with eternal banishment to hell, Anubis, god of the underworld, has found a loophole in one of the oldest laws which will allow him to unleash his evil on an unsuspecting human world. Orion’s only hope to stop him is to accept his challenge: send a champion to win the love of the wolf with the hardest heart. It will take someone with a pure heart to soften a closed one, so faced with the threat of losing not only the werewolves, but the destruction of the human race, the gods can only do one thing — send Adam, one of their own.
Adam quickly realizes that the werewolf whose love he must win is Jed. Wounded after the loss of his wife and son, Jed promised he would never love again or be responsible for someone else’s happiness. Adam has been given a near impossible task.
Anubis is eager to see Adam fail, and unbeknown to everyone takes matters into his own hands to make sure of it. Everything happening now is part of his master plan, and finally it has come full circle.
Even if Adam succeeds and wins Jed’s heart, will that love survive when Jed discovers the whole thing was nothing more than a bet? Or when Adam does the one thing he mustn’t and falls in love himself, will he not only break Jed’s heart but completely destroy his own?
Here is an exclusive excerpt….
Adam turned his attention back to Jed. “Is Jed mated, then?”
Pam shook her head sadly and hesitated.
“Don’t tell me if you’re breaking a confidence,” he said hurriedly, knowing it would have the opposite effect.
“It’s not a confidence, it just isn’t something a lot of people know because Jed’s a very private person. He had a human wife some twenty years ago I think, but she died.”
Adam’s heart thudded loudly. “Was she sick?”
“No, she was pregnant.” Adam frowned, so Pam explained further. “Human women can’t have werewolf babies. Something to do with the blood demands from the fetus. All the hybrids here are the pups of she-wolves mated to human men.”
Except one. Adam knew all about the hybrids, and he knew about the only child, Daniel, whose human mother had survived her pregnancy. The hybrids were his mother’s greatest hope for the future of the humans and what had caused the battle with Anubis in the first place.
“Jed came from a small, isolated pack. He had no idea about the danger to humans, and my dad said he has never gotten over her death. He says Jed will never take another mate, ever, because he feels so guilty. He lives on his own…”
Pam was still talking, but Adam wasn’t listening. Adam knew now beyond a shadow of doubt that Jed was the werewolf whose heart and love he had to win. The hardest heart. Adam had foolishly assumed it had meant someone who didn’t feel emotions as deeply or was selfish to anything other than his own needs. He should have known better. Jed. It was an impossible task. Not only was Jed obviously not attracted to men, but he guarded his heart because he had loved deeply once, only for that to be taken away from him.
And Adam had to make him fall in love with him, and then he had to leave. He had to soften the hardest heart and then he had to break it. It was only the horrific alternative of allowing Anubis to run rampant that kept Adam sitting down. If he thought for a second it would work, he would offer his soul to Anubis now. Anything would be better than destroying this man for a second time.
He had been a fool, an over confident fool, and whether he won or lost his own outcome would be the same. A pure heart? That was the requirement and why he had been chosen. Anubis knew. He knew that breaking the heart of one who had suffered so much already would be more than Adam could cope with. Destroying Jed would not just break his own heart, it would rip it in two.

Has loved books for as long as she can remember. Books were always what pocket money went on and what usually Father Christmas brought. When she ran out of her kids’ adventure stories, she would go raid her Mom’s. By the age of eight she was devouring classics like Little Women, and fell in love with love stories.
She’s still in love with them. Any size, any shape, any creature – love is love, no matter what it says on the box.
In fact if they don’t fit very neatly into any box she loves them even more!
She has a very patient husband and three wonderful children. In 2010 in search of adventure they all moved from the UK to the US and are happily settled in Florida.
In 2013 after reading love stories for so long she decided to write her own.
