I’m thrilled to be taking part in Max Vos‘ tour for My Hero: The Olympian. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, My Hero, and recently did a ‘re-read’ via the audio book. I did a review of the audio book over at Divine Magazine. Click here if you want to check it out.
Today, Max provides a guest post and a giveaway for his new release.

RELEASE DATE: November 15, 2015
BLURB: After a romantic evening, Rich and Johnny face the light of day as a couple. Johnnyโs coming out forces
them to face some serious repercussions as the world of collegian jocks adjust to their first openly gay football
player.
Rich is still working towards the World Diving Championships with his hopes and dreams set on the 2012 London
Olympic Games, while as a couple they deal with concerns closer to home.
With the support of friends and family, the young couple grow closer together, but with prejudices and adversity
at every turn will Johnny and Rich be able to tackle the world together?
No matter what, Rich will always be Johnnyโs hero.
Thank you Nic for having me today.
For those of you who may not know, Nic Starr is the consummate hostess. She welcomed me into her home in Hunter Valley when I was visiting Australia. Sheโs a damn fine cook too. We ate and drank wine and watched the kangaroos in the yard. Great times.
I guess the main reason Iโm here is to discuss my newest release, My Hero: The Olympian. It is the continuation of My Hero, the story of Johnny Milloway, super football jock and Rich Miller, a ten meter platform diver whose goal it is to go to the Olympics. This book picks up right where the last one left off.
This story was a real challenge for me on several levels. For one thing, how often do you read about an already established couple? More often than not, most books in this genre are about a couples beginning. So where does one go after that? As with just about every other book Iโve done, I simply let the characters tell their own story. That is what happened hereโฆ sort of. They kept going after the doughnuts, again.
Iโve always had this rule about writing. I write for me first. If Iโm not happy with a story then it isnโt going to go anywhere near the public. Iโm pretty picky about that. I really try to turn out a quality product. Of course there are always those out there who will say that some aspect of my writing is unbelievable, but trust meโฆ if I believe it and I wrote it, then more than likely Iโve lived it.
The end result is that it took me over a year and a half to get this story done. It was done in starts and stops, hair pulling, whining like beat puppy and many gallons of milk. (I have a pretty bad milk addiction for those who donโt know.) But yeahโฆ Iโm surprised I didnโt get an ulcer writing this one.
This is also the biggest book Iโve ever written. I think it is going to be close to 500 pages when it is in its final format. For me thatโs huge. There is just so much going on in this one and the buildup seemed to take forever. But these guys werenโt going to be rushed, so who am I to fuss.
Although this is a stand-alone book, I do highly suggest that you read the first one. It will make a lot more sense, especially because of the history of the main characters and secondary ones even more so.
I hope everyone will enjoy it.
Thanks, Nic for allowing me to visit. XOXO
โNo, Iโm not going to and there is nothing you can say that will make me either.โ Johnny crossed his arms, a
defiant look on his face, his eyes narrowed slits.
โOh come on, John, I wear them.โ Rich held up the skimpy black racing briefs. โFor me?โ
Johnny looked away. โNo. I said no and I mean no.โ
Rich leaned in close to Johnny so only he could hear. โIf you wear this, I can guarantee you some of the best sex in
your life. If you think I get turned on by jock strapsโฆโ
Johnny glared down at Rich. โYou donโt play fair.โ
โWasnโt it you who recently said that all is fair in love and war?โ Rich smirked as he dangled the tiny briefs in
front of Johnny.
โIt better be the best ever.โ Johnny let his arms drop. โOkay. But you promised.โ
Again, Rich leaned in close. โMaybe even join the mile high club.โ
Johnnyโs eyebrows shot up and a grin blossomed on his face. โDeal.โ
โAre we done here?โ Dan called to the two college men. He was standing at the counter, credit card in hand.
โOne more thing, Dad.โ Rich hurried over to him. โThis.โ
Dan raised his eyebrows slightly. โOookay then.โ
Rich snickered when he saw Johnny blushing.
โI think this will be all,โ Dan said to the clerk.
โIโm going to give you a discount,โ the young woman said as she rang it up. โIt isnโt every day that we can say an
Olympian wore some of our gear.โ
โIโm not an Olympian yet,โ Rich commented.
โRich Miller, Iโve known you my entire life, and if anyone is going to be an Olympian, itโs you.โ Michelle Stubbon
smiled at Rich as she started putting the pile of swimsuits, track suits, shorts, and other things that he and Johnny
needed for London in a bag.
โThanks, Michelle. I appreciate the confidence everyone has in me.โ
โJust remember us lowly folk when you come home with Olympic gold,โ she laughed asย she handed Dan the receipt.
