I’m continuing to showcase the authors who are appearing as Supporting Authors at GRL this year. I’ve been chatting to some people I haven’t met before and some people who’s work I’ve featured on the Two Men blog before.
Today it’s the turn of April Kelley.
Meet April Kelley
Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions.
Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?
April: Last year I signed up to attend the writer’s workshop. I live close to Chicago so it was a nice way to learn about my craft. If you can’t attend the whole retreat and live close to San Diego then I recommend the Writer’s Workshop. It was filled with good information. It’s also a good way to meet some awesome people.
What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?
April: Meeting some of my favorite Author’s definitely. I’ve been reading a long time, long before I took writing serious enough to submit something.
What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?
April: I guess reading in the genre.
What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
April: Whispers of Home was the first thing I ever submitted to a publisher. It’s about a gay man who comes back home after his best friend gets murdered.
The first one I ever wrote is untitled. It’s about a soldier who comes back from war to his lover. The man isn’t the same person that left though.
What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.
April: Currently I’m reading a series by Catherine Lievens. Whitedell Pride Series. Its about werewolves and their mates. Each book is about a different couple. Love shifter books.
Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?
April: I don’t know how interesting I am. At least most days I’m pretty boring, but here goes. I live next to one of the biggest lakes in the world and love to spend time next to it. I visit the lighthouse all the time.
I’m looking forward to meeting you in October. I’m sure you’re not at all boring. 🙂 Thanks for answering my questions.
