I’m continuing to showcase the authors who are appearing as Supporting Authors at GRL this year. I’ve been chatting to some people I haven’t met before and some people who’s work I’ve featured on the Two Men blog before.
Today it’s the turn of April Kelley.
Meetย April Kelley
Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions.
Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If itโs your first, what made you sign up this year?
April: Last year I signed up to attend the writerโs workshop. I live close to Chicago so it was a nice way to learn about my craft. If you canโt attend the whole retreat and live close to San Diego then I recommend the Writerโs Workshop. It was filled with good information. Itโs also a good way to meet some awesome people.
What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?
April: Meeting some of my favorite Authorโs definitely. Iโve been reading a long time, long before I took writing serious enough to submit something.
What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?
April: I guess reading in the genre.
What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
April: Whispers of Home was the first thing I ever submitted to a publisher. Itโs about a gay man who comes back home after his best friend gets murdered.
The first one I ever wrote is untitled. Itโs about a soldier who comes back from war to his lover. The man isnโt the same person that left though.
What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.
April: Currently Iโm reading a series by Catherine Lievens. Whitedell Pride Series. Its about werewolves and their mates. Each book is about a different couple. Love shifter books.
Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?
April: I donโt know how interesting I am. At least most days Iโm pretty boring, but here goes. I live next to one of the biggest lakes in the world and love to spend time next to it. I visit the lighthouse all the time.
I’m looking forward to meeting you in October. I’m sure you’re not at all boring. ๐ Thanks for answering my questions.
