I can’t believe it’s getting to the end of August. Not long to go now!
Today I’d like to introduce you to Nicole Dennis. She has a new book coming out in September which looks fabulous.
I hope you enjoy!
Meet Nicole Dennis
Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions. Hopefully you won’t find then too difficult. 🙂
Hi Nic! Ooooh. Nic and Nicole. We twins! LOL As for the questions, nah, gonna have some fun. Fire away!
Hah, great name! I’m actually a Nicola not a Nicole but close enough. 😉
Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?
Nicole: This is my 3rd GRL and I loved every one. Authors, don’t worry about promo n lil stuff, the readers just wanna talk to you about your books, crazy characters, and fan squeal you. Lots of squeals and hugs, but that makes it fun! Readers (and to me all Authors are also Readers), here’s your chance to fan-squeal and talk with us. Most Authors are natural shy and introverted, we all hide behind computer screens for one reason or another.
What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?
Nicole: Just being back with a close-knit family of everyone who loves this type of genre. It’s so zany, crazy and filled with support and love. You instantly feel this type of comfort.
What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?
Nicole: No inspiration really, I saw a Submission Call for a 4th of July story and answered it.
What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
Nicole: It was my 4th of July story (for the ex publisher that shall not be named) called Sparklers Lit. I wrote the entire thing in 2 weeks (?) and fell in love. Sparklers Lit is about a chef called Cameron (I seem to write a lot of them) who is attending a 4th of July party. His former flame, Derek, a soldier who did a complete disappearing act on him without a word, returned – surprise! – and pisses off Cameron. Derek has secrets of his own and isn’t looking too well. Over the course of the day and night, the sparks light back up between them and secrets are revealed.
Sparklers Lit sounds fabulous. I’ll have to check it out. What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.
Nicole: I just finished TJ Klune’s newest book – The Lightning Heart. OMG! Only TJ could come up with a wise-ass cracking wizard (apprentice), a hornless gay unicorn, a half-giant and zany cast of characters. I was in love with all of them within a couple of chapters and hoping the next one will come out soon. (Hint hint TJ)
Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?
Nicole: Interesting fact? Hmm…. I’m the first child of the first child on my dad’s side. Plus, I have a bonus in the family, I was my grandmother’s birthday present. I was born the day before her – and I never hear the end of how my arrival disturbed their evening coffee and tiramisu birthday dessert.
Thanks for the honest and open answers. I look forward to meeting you in October.
About Nicole
A quiet one, Nicole Dennis curled up with the latest book of a favorite author. Since the beginning, there were these characters in her head, worlds wanting to be built on paper, and stories wanting to be told. She began writing during class and continues to this day. Now she can let others into her imagination and worlds that always celebrate the love between two or more people within LGBT, paranormal, and fantasy.
During the day, she works in a quiet office in Central Florida, where she also makes her home, and enjoys the down time to slip into her imagination. She is owned by a semi-demonic tortie calico, affectionately known as Fat Cat.

Walk Me Through the Haze
Series: Walk Me 2
Publisher: MLR Press
Available: September 11
Heat: Hot
Genre: Contemporary, Cowboy, Doctor, Gay, Music
Getting the hell out of Texas and an abusive relationship, Doctor Evan Sampson drove away without looking back, taking a chance with his uncle’s clinic in small-town Montana. He can only hope things go better for him – professional and personal.
Ending a successful tour run with the band, Joshua Holmwood tries to conceal the pain in his wrist from his ‘brothers’. It doesn’t work and he accepts how he needs a doctor.
Upon reaching the ranch, coming home isn’t all fun and games for the guys. While Sage receives bad news from the new doctor, Josh learns there is more to his injured wrist. At the same time, he doesn’t conceal his interest from the doctor, who returns the same. When his injury turns tenfold, Doc Evan is again by his side. Josh hopes they can go from a patient-to-doctor relationship to a lover-to-lover one.
Warning: Abuse, medical stuff, a steamy doctor, and a cowboy who doesn’t give up – even while being a cranky toddler.
Extra Special Note: This series started with Walk Me Down the Middle. There will be 3 novellas in the Walk Me series based around some fellas in a country-rock band. Once the third novella – Walk Me Through the Dark – is finished, all 3 novellas will be published together in 1 paperback.
