This snippet is from my book, Patrick’s Savior. In this story, Patrick has a stalker who is sending letters. This time, the letter was found on Patrick’s bed.

โI get what youโre saying, I do, but I feel stupid worrying about them. The letters haven’t said anything bad, theyโve just professed their love for me. They donโt state any threats at all, in fact theyโre quite complimentary. And for all I know, it could be from a woman.โ
โWell, even if it is a woman, thereโs no saying they couldnโt be dangerous. I mean, who writes random letters professing their love for a stranger? Thatโs assuming it is a stranger whoโs sending them.โ
โWho else would it be?โ Patrick asked the question, although theyโd tossed around ideas in the past and come up empty-handed.

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction โ a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation.ย In the group youโll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every storyโs main character identifies as LGBTQ+. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences longโone for each color in the Pride flag.

Yikes! I’m reminded of my first love, who had the code to my childhood home’s original, near century old combination door lock. When I started trying to break off our relationship things got a little weird. In retrospect, sharing that information may not have been too wise, but I was young and dumb and… ~grin~ Happy Writing!

I hope things didn’t get too weird for you! This part of the story was inspired by letters I found on my bed when I was renting a ground floor flat in my early twenties. I turned out to be a guy who would catch the bus from across the road each morning and watch me leave home. It freaked me out!

One reason why I find Valentine’s Day cards vaguely creepy!
