Here’s a quick look at three of the books I’ve been reading lately.
How about some menage ?
I liked Hiatus by L.A. Witt in that it tackled an existing relationship that was going through issues. The fact that it was a menage relationship made it somewhat unique. An interesting look at what happens when communication is lacking in a marriage and partners try to protect or shield each other from potentially deep issues. I would have liked to see some incremental steps in repairing the relationship but was glad the guys got there in the end. And this is definitely a book for those that like sex in their stories.
A sweet story…
Not A Game by Cardeno C is such a sweet story. I loved the characters. I loved the age gap. I loved the sweet, shy and very insecure Oliver. I loved that Jaime loved every bit of Oliver. It was so refreshing to read a story where one of the main characters doesn’t have the model-perfect body.
Bittersweet Dreams
I’m always nervous going into bittersweet dreams. For those of you who aren’t aware, these are stories that don’t have a traditional happy ending. When Fate Falls Short by Brooke Edwards falls into this category. I need to make sure I’m in the right emotional head space before reading these stories but I’m really glad I gave this one a go. The love story between Nate and Sean is beautiful, the emotion strong. But Jesse and his story is equally moving. Be prepared to shed a few tears, and hope against hope that a happy ending magically appears. That happy ending won’t appear for now but the author assures me that a HEA is eventually in the cards so I’ll be eagerly watching for the next book.
That’s it for now. I hope you find something new to read in this lot, and feel free to leave some comments with your own recommendations.
And if you want to read one of my books, how about the Heroes series, starting with Charlie’s Hero?
Happy reading,
Nic <3
