Meet Aisling Mancy

Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions. Hopefully you won’t find then too difficult. 🙂

Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?

This is my first GRL and I’m terrified. But not for the reasons you might think. My grandfather was a prolific author and I grew up in Hollywood, and dealt with public appearances, premieres, and the press from a young age. Having almost no privacy and literally having to run from the press from the time I was young is indelibly imprinted on my mind. As such, public appearances of any kind frighten me.

What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?

Meeting the authors and readers I so admire.

What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?

I advocate for abused boys and now I write for them to give them hope in recovering from abuse.

What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?

It’s a series of eight books in the fantasy genre involving a Welsh god and a shifter and maybe, just maybe, if I remain appropriately caffeinated, it’ll come out next year.

What book are you currently reading or have just finished reading? Tell us a little about it.

I just finished reading a contemporary thriller about nanotechnology wherein a group of people protesting against nanotechnology is led by the very man who leads nano research.

Please share an interesting fact your readers may not know about you?

While I do have some speech, I generally do not speak. I have a speech impediment that makes it a nearly insurmountable task. I plan to do a lot of nodding and smiling as well as writing on my little pad of paper. Please be willing to read my little pad of paper!
