It’s September. OMG, GRL is just around the corner!

As I mentioned last week, my To Do list for preparing to head to the US, has seen most items crossed off. Today I’m adding a couple of new things – get a flu shot and stock up on stuff to keep me healthy. I’ve seen lots of suggestions from fellow attendees that should help me avoid the nasty germs.

Today we meet author Z. Allora. I hope you enjoy!

Welcome! Thanks for agreeing to answer a couple of questions. Hopefully you won’t find then too difficult. 🙂

Is this your first GRL? If not, do you have any advice for authors and/or readers who are attending? If it’s your first, what made you sign up this year?

It’s my fourth GRL.

My advice: Have fun!!! You are with your tribe. Find out about the readers, the other writers, the reviewers, and the publishers.

My warning: Sipping straight from the rainbow can be overwhelming take some alone time to de-charge. I know you want to do everything and see everyone but you will burn yourself out. Take a bit of time to relax so you can enjoy the GRL.

Suggestion: Zicam, Emergence-C & Airbourne it helped me avoid the GRL plague last year. You will be attending a germ buffet… hugging all of us exposes you to new and determined germs… PREVENTION MY PRETTIES!

What are you most looking forward to about GRL this year?

I love meeting everyone: sometimes the best times are when you are sitting next to a stranger and you leave as Facebook friends.

What inspired you to start writing in the gay romance genre?

Sitting in China and saw a clip of Adam Lambert kiss his (then) keyboard player. The backlash from the sponsors made me angry. I wrote a ‘what if’ story… studying the song FEVER on YouKu (China’s answer to YouTube) I was fascinated how the kiss happening or not during the show could identify how homophobic the place they performed in was… as the Glam tour came to Asia and certain countries had protests. The fear was Adam Lambert would make their kids gay. I realized I HAD to share aka publish my story which evolved into The Dark Angels.

What was the first m/m romance book you wrote? Can you share a little about the story?
